Lincoln Bicentenial Lecture

On February 20, 2009 at 7:00 pm the Department of History will host this very special occasion. Celebrating the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln’s birth, Dr. Jennifer L. Weber will be on campus giving a talk entitled “The Civil War at Home: Abraham Lincoln and the Copperheads.” Dr. Weber is currently a professor of History at the University of Kansas. She received her education at Princeton University, graduating in 2000 with her PhD. She has had a very busy and colorful life. Spending part of her life as a journalist and another part as part of the California State Legislature, her desire to know more about the Civil War drew her to academia. We are honored to host her talk here at Eastern. This event is free and open to the public and could not have been possible without support from the Robert and Nancy Hennings History Fund.
