Charles Foy awarded fellowships by John Carter Brown Library and Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Abolition and Resistance at Yale University

Charles Foy, assistant professor of history, has been awarded the Marie L. & William R. Harland Fellowship in Early Maritime History by the John Carter Brown Library in Providence, Rhode Island and a short term Postdoctoral Fellowship by the Gilder Lehrman Center for the Slavery, Abolition, and Resistance at Yale University. While on leave during AY 2010-11 Dr. Foy will spend the Fall semester at the JCB Library and January 2011 at the Gilder Lehrman working on his book project “Prize Negroes in the Age of Sail.”
